Position Description

The School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences (IAS) at the University of Washington Bothell (UW Bothell) seeks a dynamic educator in Law, Economics, and Public Policy for a visiting Full-Time Lecturer position. This person will have expertise in interdisciplinary pedagogy and portfolio-based teaching. The successful candidate must have a demonstrated commitment to innovative and effective pedagogy; ability to address questions of diversity, equity and inclusion in courses; and expertise in working with diverse student populations. The candidate will be responsible for teaching an eight course load over three quarters in one or more of the following areas, depending on expertise: public policy, law and/or economics.  The candidate must be able to teach BIS 312 Approaches to Social Research as part of their course load. Other courses may include individual specialty areas, including courses listed below under the core courses. We are seeking a candidate to join our faculty on a Full Time Temporary (100%) basis for a 9-month service period. Positions in this title are non-tenure track and not promotion eligible. Reappointments are contingent upon instructional needs, performance and funding, and limited to 3 consecutive annual appointments. The start date is September 16, 2024. The base salary range for this position will be $68.000 - $76.000 per year (nine months), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Qualifications

 

Minimum requirements for the position include:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent professional experience required by time of appointment. This search is also open to PhD students in the advanced stages of their program
  • Demonstrated commitment to innovative and effective pedagogy
  • Demonstrated ability to teach courses in public policy, law and/or economics
  • Demonstrated ability to address questions of diversity, equity and inclusion in courses and scholarship Expertise in working with diverse student populations
