Faculty Affairs
Faculty Affairs, at the University of Washington Office for Academic Personnel and Faculty, provides comprehensive guidelines on recruitment and retention, appointments, promotions, and tenure. It offers detailed descriptions of academic titles and ranks, and outlines processes for hiring, reappointments, and separations. Support for international scholars, standardized forms and templates, and a due dates calendar ensure efficient faculty management.
Faculty Development
The Office for Academic Personnel and Faculty is dedicated to fostering faculty development, aligning recruitment with the University’s core values. We provide support in research, teaching, and service, ensuring success at every stage of your career—from leadership development and promotion to tenure, retirement, and beyond.
Inclusive Excellence
Inclusive Excellence, under the Office for Academic Personnel & Faculty, takes the lead in fostering equity and inclusion among faculty members. Through collaborative initiatives across the university, Inclusive Excellence supports the recruitment and retention of outstanding faculty, striving to create inclusive environments that recognize and support excellence in research, teaching, and service, thereby enriching the academic community as a whole.
Collaboration is the cornerstone of great leadership. Just as our ability to prepare students, conduct groundbreaking research, and engage with the world hinges on the caliber of our faculty, so too does our collective success rely on our capacity to collaborate effectively.
