Position Description

The Division of Developmental Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics, at the University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking  a full-time Psychologist at the level of Associate Professor (WOT without tenure by reason of funding, or a full Professor (WOT) without tenure by reason of funding, on the Faculty Scientist pathway.  This position will be expected to engage in research related to neurodevelopmental outcomes and interventions in children with risk factors for developmental delays. We aim to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment to the ethnically, racially, and socioeconomically diverse children, adolescents, and young adults and their families we serve. We focus on providing neurodiversity-affirming clinical care, and work alongside family and self-advocates in our training program.

The base salary range for this position will be: Associate Professors $9,095 - $15,000 per month ($109,142 - $180,000 annually), Professors $14,380 - $22,929 per month ($172,570 - $275,148 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. 

This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Children’s University Medical Group practice plan. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative supplement (ADS).

This position is full-time at the Associate or Full Professor level.

The Position will include the following duties:

•    Lead a research program on neurodevelopmental outcomes in children with risk factors for developmental delays and disability.

•    Procure external funding for the research program.

•    Train and supervise students, residents and fellows.

•    Participate in Divisional teaching rounds and team meetings.

•    Interview selected trainee applicants interested in research.

Clinical work and other responsibilities as assigned by the Division Head/Chair by mutual agreement.

Rank is commensurate with experience and qualifiacations.  

Anticipated start date is Spring - Summer 2024.

Associate and full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30).  Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a doctoral degree (or foreign equivalent) in clinical or school psychology, an internship from an APA-approved program (or foreign equivalent), and be licensed or license eligible as a Psychologist in Washington State, and have completed a US accredited postdoctoral fellowship.
