Position Description
The Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (AID) in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking applicants for three full-time faculty positions. These positions will be at the Assistant Professor level, without tenure for reasons of funding (WOT), and will have clinical, teaching, and scholarly responsibilities. Assistant professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position is anticipated to start in July 2024.
The successful candidates will provide clinical care to people with HIV as well as general infectious diseases patients. These positions will include both outpatient and inpatient care, and primarily involve clinical care at the Madison Clinic located at Harborview Medical Center as well as affiliated satellite clinics. The duties of these positions include publishing in the field of infectious diseases and mentoring fellows and other trainees regarding HIV disease. The successful candidates will provide clinical instruction (whilst seeing patients) to medical students, residents, and fellows, in-classroom instruction, curriculum development, and mentorship to internal medicine residents in the IM Residency HIV Pathway. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.
The base salary range for this position will be: $15,448 - $16,430 per month ($185,376 - $197,160 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination .

Qualifications
Applicants must hold a MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) and be board eligible/board certified in Infectious Diseases (or foreign equivalent). Applicants must also be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Washington. Successful candidates must demonstrate clinical expertise in the care of infectious disease patients. Additionally, they must demonstrate scholarly research related to HIV and STIs. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
