Inclusive and Compliant Hiring Practices at UW: A Guide for Hiring Authorities is a required training for all UW employees who serve as a hiring authority on any search. It must be completed before beginning recruitment activities and ensures a shared, mission-driven approach to hiring across the University.
This online course takes approximately 20 minutes and provides practical guidance for conducting transparent, competency-based evaluations while meeting UW policy requirements, maintaining legal compliance, and preserving confidentiality.
It applies to hiring for faculty, librarians, other academic personnel, staff, graduate medical education (GME) trainees, and graduate student ASEs. The training also complements Compliance and Risk Services’ Human Resources and Employment Practices Checklists.
