National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD)
The National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity provides around-the-year
access to an external mentoring community to support the success of University of
Washington faculty, post-docs, and graduate students. The NCFDD offers concrete,
empirically-tested strategies for increasing productivity through. for example, online
training workshops facilitated by experts on faculty development and the -Monday
Motivator- weekly newsletter.
The University of Washington is an institutional member of the National Center for
Faculty Development and Diversity, designed to provide professional development
tools for all UW faculty, post -docs, and graduate students!
Membership benefits include:
- Intensive online training and mentoring
- Tips and techniques on securing external research funding
- Professional development online workshops
- Access to multi-week courses each term
- Access to moderated monthly writing challenges

APF Inclusive Excellence is offering tuition support for NCFDD’s Spring 2026 Faculty Support Program
Apply and share widely with colleagues who may be interested or benefit from this program:
- Open to all UW faculty with an active NCFDD account. Register to become an NCFDD member to get notifications for future opportunities.
- Tuition support will provide for one-third of the required early bird discounted tuition on a cost-sharing basis with faculty members’ departments, colleges, schools and/or campuses.
- Priority will be given to assistant and associate professors with specific plans for using the FSP to work toward promotion (both tenure-track and WOT faculty)
- Apply at Spring 2026 FSP Support Application (Only UW NetId accessible) between October 1, 2025 and October 31, 2025 by 5pm. More detailed information and instructions available on application.
- Applications will need to include:
- One-page description of how participation in FSP will contribute toward professional development and plans for tenure or promotion.
- Copy of a 3-page CV.
- Evidence of seeking support from your department and school or college as an attachment.
- Early Bird registration with the NCFDD ends on November 14, 2025. Registration deadline can change so make sure to check back at Spring 2026 FSP regularly.
- Early registration is recommended as the program often reaches maximum capacity in advance of the registration deadline.
- Decisions will be made on a rolling basis until all awards have been issued.
- Please check with your unit or college administrator in advance to understand the payment and reimbursement options available, as APF Inclusive Excellence is unable to register or cover full tuition costs for faculty. Support is transferred to unit or college budget.
