The following is a reference guide for completing your Workday demographics profile related to veteran status. In Workday you will be asked to select one of the following to describe your relationship with the Armed Forces.

 Active Duty Wartime or Campaign Badge Veteran (Protected)

Choose this status if you are an Active Duty Wartime or Campaign Badge Veteran: Have served on active duty (A) in the Armed Forces in any campaign for which a badge has been authorized by the Department of Defense or (B) during one or more of the periods of war described below:

    • Korean Conflict: June 27, 1950 – January 31, 1955
    • Vietnam Era: February 28, 1961 – May 7, 1975 for veterans serving in the Republic of Vietnam or August 5, 1964 – May 7, 1975 for all other cases
    • Persian Gulf War: August 2, 1990 – current

Armed Force Service Medal Veteran (Protected)

Choose this status if you have been awarded an Armed Forces service medal pursuant to Executive Order 12985.

Disable Veteran (Protected)

Choose this status if one of the following applies:

    • You are a Veteran of the Armed Forces entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, or
    • You are a person discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability

I Am a Protected Veteran but Choose Not to Self-Identify the Classification to Which I Belong

Choose this status if you fall into one of the 4 protected veteran categories above but wish not to self-identify in which classification you belong.

I Am Not a Protected Veteran

Choose this status if you are a veteran but do not fall into any of the 4 protected categories outlined below.

I Decline to Disclose My Veteran Status

Choose this status if you do not wish to disclose your veteran status.

Non-Veteran

Choose this status if you have never served in the armed forces.

Recently Separated Veteran (Protected)

Choose this status if you are 3 years from your Armed Forces active duty discharge or release.
