As required by law, all federal and state leave options must be accessible to all eligible employees, whether or not their unit is able to cover missed work. UW faculty members are not responsible for finding coverage related to their approved state or federally protected leave; nor may they be penalized for taking job-protected leave.

Job Restoration

As required by law, upon returning from approved leave, you may be restored to the job you held at the time leave began or to an equivalent job, unless hired for a specific term or to perform work on a discrete project.
