A 10% salary increase will be awarded to faculty and librarians who have been promoted in rank.* Promotions are awarded a 10% salary increase upon the effective date. Faculty with a 12-month service period will receive the promotion increase July 1; faculty with a 9-month service period will receive the increase September 16.

Promotional increases are a separate action from merit increases. In years when a merit increase is awarded, 9-month faculty who work summer and receive a merit increase July 1 will receive the promotion increase effective September 16.

For faculty funded from grant and contract or clinical revenues (research, clinical, and WOT faculty), resources to support the 10% increases must come from those alternative sources.

Promotional increases and title changes need to be recorded by unit administrators. Refer to the president’s approval letter and the specific Payroll Schedule Deadline.

Promotion increases do not accompany changes in status (awards of tenure) if not accompanied by a promotion in rank.
