A Series Focused on Faculty Hiring and Recruitment Best Practices at the University of Washington

These annual faculty hiring workshops and webinars cover search preparation, application review, interviewing, and final selection. The 90-minute required APF training for faculty search committees is part of this three-part series. The remaining two trainings are optional and complement the required training. Note the optional trainings cannot replace the 90-minute required APF training for faculty search committees.  

The workshop and webinar sequence is as follows: 

1. Preparing for Faculty Hiring (optional):
   • Offered late spring quarter in anticipation of the next hiring cycle,
   • Complements the required APF training. 
2. Effective Practices for Assessing Applications (required):
   • Offered early autumn quarter,
   • Equivalent to the required APF faculty search committee training.
     
3. Effective Practices for Interviewing (optional):
   • Offered mid-autumn quarter,
   • Complements the required APF training.
