This interactive Mentoring the Mentor (MtM) workshop, led by the Office for Academic Personnel & Faculty, invites participants to review, share and explore best practices.

Full Professors, Department Chairs, Training Grant PIs, and Postdoctoral Supervisors
Workshop themes
Through a combination of presentation, case studies and small and large group discussions, this 3-hour workshop explores academic mentorship themes of interest as identified though focus groups and interviews.

Setting clear expectations on both sides - Mentoring Across Differences
Acknowledging and working with identity and background differences
Using these themes as a road map, workshop presenters and participants discuss effective methods, tools and resources to promote and support a respectful and collaborative mentoring model.
The fall session will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025. Coffee and tea will be available starting at 8:30 AM, and the workshop will run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
