Position Description
The College of Built Environments (CBE) at the University of Washington (UW) invites nominations and applications to join our faculty as an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Runstad Department of Real Estate. The Department is hiring one position that is focused on commercial real estate, including areas such as finance, investment, and development. The new faculty member will teach some combination of courses related to commercial real estate. Our faculty are highly motivated, impact-driven, creative, and collaborative and have a demonstrated history of innovative and successful teaching and curriculum development within an interdisciplinary setting. This position will help sustain and expand our capacity to provide excellent courses and coordinate across disciplines in our college and beyond.
Responsibilities & Terms
Teaching faculty are expected to be on campus during the academic year to teach courses, mentor students, and engage in service activities, including advising students, assisting with student organizations, and serving on departmental and college committees. Selected candidates will be assigned classes that may include large and small lectures, and seminar courses and include both required and elective courses.

This is a full-time 9-month (Sept 16th - June 15th) initial 3-year appointment with the possibility of renewal. The earliest anticipated start date is Spring Quarter March 31, 2025, with an expectation that approximately 80% of the faculty member’s time is dedicated to teaching and 20% to service to the department in coordination with the Department Chair. The expectation for this position is to teach a minimum of 24 credits hours annually, though teaching loads are negotiated annually with the Department Chair. This position is for an initial three-year term with the possibility of multi-year renewal with a salary range of $90,000 - $100,000 which provides full access to the employee benefits offered by UW and has the opportunity to be promoted to Associate and Full Teaching Professor. The position is not eligible for tenure.

Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in real estate, construction, or business-related discipline

Ability to teach quantitative courses, as demonstrated by prior teaching expertise, teaching evaluations, or teaching demonstration
