Position Description

The University of Washington, Department of Dermatology is currently recruiting an Open Rank Clinical Faculty Position in Dermatologic Surgery. Our Department includes 35 paid faculty members across 6 different clinical sites (Roosevelt, Harborview, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, South Lake Union, Eastside Specialty Center, VA Puget Sound) and over 30 staff members. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. The determination of rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. 

 

This position has the potential to be full or part-time and will be based at one or more of the following University of Washington Dermatology clinical sites, Roosevelt, South Lake Union, or Eastside Specialty Center. This position will hold an annual appointment that aligns with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.  The position duties include teaching and patient care, performing dermatologic surgery procedures and Mohs surgery at the University of Washington Medical Center, and affiliated sites. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2024. 

 

Salary: The salary range for this position will be: $26,250-$43,334 per month ($315,000 - $520,008 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Qualifications

Applicants are required to have an MD (or foreign equivalent) as well as Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Dermatology and completion of ACGME Procedural Dermatology Fellowship (or foreign equivalent). Applicant must also be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington. A competitive applicant will have an established record of clinical care, teaching, and research in the area of Dermatology.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
