The Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar for a full-time, one-year joint appointment in partnership with the Disruptive Behavior programs in Outpatient Psychiatry at Seattle Children’s Hospital. This position will support two federally funded clinical trials in the Adolescent Adversity and Depression Intervention (AADI) lab including 1) a soon-to-be completed project aiming to understand reward processing mechanisms of depression treatment response in depressed adolescents with maltreatment histories (K23MH112872) and 2) a recently funded R34 seeking to develop and test a novel digital approach to evidence-based depression intervention in adolescents. These projects are being conducted by UW faculty in Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and Human-Centered Design & Engineering. The primary research duties for this position will involve data management and statistical analysis for the K23 clinical trial once complete, assistance with study start-up and coordination for the newly funded R34 digital mental health clinical trial, training and consultation with supervisors, and manuscript, presentation, and grant preparation. Dr. Jessica Jenness is the PI on both projects and supervisor for this position.

This position will also include clinical opportunities supported by the Program to Enhance Attention, Regulation and Learning (PEARL) for ADHD and Disruptive Behavior treatment programs at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Clinical duties will include working with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians to provide group and individualized treatment programs for child disruptive behavior/ADHD, child school behavior difficulties, adolescent disruptive behavior, and adolescent ADHD/organizational difficulties. It will also include evaluation and treatment planning for youth with attention and behavioral concerns and participating in multidisciplinary rounds/consultation groups; additional opportunities to provide behavioral crisis intervention, train integrated primary care clinicians, and conduct group-based care for adolescent depression may also be arranged. Clinical work will be supervised by Dr. Erin Schoenfelder Gonzalez.

This is a one-year appointment. The intended start date is negotiable. This position is full-time with competitive salary and benefits through the University of Washington.

A doctoral degree or foreign equivalent in Clinical Psychology or a related field; excellent communication and leadership skills; and experience conducting clinical research and data analysis with highly repeated measures data (e.g., ecological momentary assessment and/or wearable data). Training in evidence-based therapy for child and family ADHD, behavioral, and mood concerns, especially Parent Behavior Management Training, is helpful.

Prospective candidates must have completed all doctoral degree requirements prior to the start of postdoctoral employment.
