Position Description
The University of Washington Medicine Cancer Vaccine Institute, Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology is working on the development of vaccines for the prevention and treatment of colon cancer is recruiting for a full-time postdoctoral fellow. This is a full-time, 12-month term position with possible extension to another 12-months depending on funding and performance. The position would be at the Postdoctoral Scholar level. The project is highly translational and entails the identification of immunogenic proteins to target with cancer vaccines, as well as in vivo modeling of immune therapies in transgenic mouse models of adenomas and colon cancers. Analyzing novel combinations of immune stimulating drugs with vaccines is another element of the project.
The base salary range for this position will be $5,459 to 6,000 per month ($65,508 to $72,000 per annum) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Postdoctoral scholar fellows are represented by UAW 4121 and are subject to the collective bargaining agreement, unless agreed exclusion criteria apply. For more information, please visit the University of Washington Labor Relations website.
Qualifications
This position requires a Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in immunology and significant experience in cellular and molecular based immunological techniques. Demonstration of writing skills through a documented publication record and excellent communication skills are needed. Experience in working with methods associated with human and murine T-cell function is a benefit. Previous post-doctoral experience is preferred.
