Position Description

The Trauma Recovery & Resilience Innovations (TRI) group is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar for a full-time, two-year appointment in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington. This position will support a large NIAAA-funded R01 study to understand mechanisms of recovery for both PTSD and alcohol use in women recently exposed to sexual assault. The project is being conducted by faculty at the University of Washington (Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and Psychology), Stanford University (Psychiatry), and Georgia State University. Dr. Michele Bedard-Gilligan is the study PI and supervisor for this position.

The primary duties for this position will involve the coordination of a treatment outcome study that uses a multiple randomization design to explore the effects of a fear (imaginal exposure), reward (alcohol skills training), or fear/reward combined intervention compared to supportive control on symptoms of PTSD and alcohol misuse. Additional duties will include training and consultation with supervisors, provision of direct clinical service to participants enrolled in the trial, data management and statistical analysis, and manuscript, presentation, and grant preparation.

This is a full-time position for an initial two-year appointment. The intended start date is negotiable. The base salary range for this position will be $4570–$5584 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Postdoctoral scholars are represented by UAW 4121 and are subject to the collective bargaining agreement, unless agreed exclusion criteria apply. For more information, please visit the University of Washington Labor Relations website.
