Position Description

The Division of Neonatology, Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington is seeking a full-time faculty member to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor without tenure by reason of funding on the Faculty-Scientist track. Academic rank at the time of appointment is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The Division of Neonatology at the University of Washington is nationally and internationally recognized for its innovative, well-funded, collaborative and productive basic and translational neurobiology research program focused on mechanisms, prevention and neuroprotective treatment of neonatal brain injury. This work includes basic science and translational methods using multiple preclinical models of neonatal brain injury. We are looking for a team member to help achieve our goal of bringing promising therapies to clinical trials, and to evaluate the effects of instituted changes in care (outcomes).

This title is eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.  Anticipated start date Fall 2022.

Qualifications

This position requires a PhD in a relevant field (or foreign equivalent)
