Position Description

The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine, University of Washington School of Medicine and Heart Institute is recruiting a full-time Assistant Professor without tenure by reason of funding, noninvasive cardiologist to join the Cardiology Section at the University of Washington, Harborview Medical Center. Assistant Professors  (WOT) without tenure by reason of funding are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time.  The successful candidate will provide clinical care in the inpatient setting as well as read echoes and develop a robust outpatient practice. This position will be expected to attend on clinical service and mentor trainees.  The anticipated start date is October 1, 2022.

University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

Qualifications

Applicants must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified/eligible in cardiovascular diseases (or foreign equivalent). The applicant should possess strong clinical skills in the management of end-stage heart failure and transplant/post-transplant patients. Candidates should have a demonstrated record of research and publication.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
