Position Description
The University of Washington Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology is recruiting a full-time faculty member for appointment at the Assistant Professor rank (without tenure due to funding), with an annual service period of 12 months (July 1-June 30). This position would be based at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, one of the three major teaching hospitals of the University of Washington. The selected candidate would see patients, teach, and build a related research program. Potential areas of research focus include hemostasis/thrombosis, geriatric hematology, palliative care, culturally tailored medicine, vascular biology, financial toxicity, or cost effectiveness studies. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Position will remain open until filled. Anticipated start date is July 2022.
Qualifications
The selected candidate must have:
MD or DO (or foreign equivalent), subspecialty training in Hematology or Hematology/Oncology and board certification in Hematology (or foreign equivalent). In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
