Position Description
The Department of Pediatrics at Seattle Children’s Hospital/University of Washington, School of Medicine is recruiting one full-time academic board eligible or certified pediatric nephrologist at the Clinical Assistant Professor level. University of Washington Faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The successful applicant will spend the bulk of their time in clinical care at Seattle Children's Hospital and would be expected to participate in regional outreach activities. There is built-in protected time for administrative activities dependent on the background and expertise of the applicant.
Clinical duties will be flexible and include weekly outpatient clinics as well as regular outreach clinics and inpatient attending and consult responsibilities for the Seattle Children’s nephrology service. This position requires a strong commitment to teaching and education of medical students, pediatric residents, pediatric nephrology fellows, as well as other members of the multidisciplinary Nephrology team.
Position is over a 12-month service period from July 1 to June 30. Anticipated start date is Summer 2022. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will also have an MD/DO (or foreign equivalent) and be board-eligible/certified in pediatrics. This position requires completion of a pediatric residency and nephrology fellowship.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
