Position Description
The Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (AID) in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position. This position will be at the Assistant Professor level, without tenure for reasons of funding (WOT), and will have clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities. This position has an annual service period of 12-months [July 1-June 30] and is anticipated to start in July 2022.
The successful candidate will serve as the director of numerous global health educational training programs in the School of Medicine and in the Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases including but not limited to the Global Health Immersion Program, Global Health Pathway, MD-MPH program, and the University of Washington of Global and Rural Health Fellowship. The candidate will also be expected to teach graduate level Global Health courses and participate in a combination of outpatient clinic, telemedicine clinic, and inpatient consult attending. The duties of this position include publishing in the field of infectious diseases and global health training programs, teaching infectious disease trainees at the student, resident, and fellow level, and mentoring. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a MD (or foreign equivalent) and be board eligible/ board certified in Infectious Diseases (or foreign equivalent). Successful candidates must demonstrate at least two years documented expertise and evidence of publications in infectious disease with a focus on either clinical education or global and rural health. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S,) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
