Title: Teaching Associate, UWMC-Northwest Campus Inpatient Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Inpatient

 

Position Overview:  We are seeking a highly reliable and flexible Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment for our UWMC-Northwest Inpatient Cardiology Team.

 

Position Details:  Full-time (100% FTE) UW Faculty Teaching Associate Position, ARNP or PA-C, M-F. Teaching Associate have an annual service period of 12 months (July-June). This is a one-year appointment, renewable annually.  Estimated start date April 1, 2022.

 

Reports to: Cardiology Service Director and Cardiology Lead Advanced Practice Provider

 

Position Description

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with an inter-professional team including established APPs and cardiologists from the UW Heart Institute to provide high quality and safe, patient- and family-centered care in a premier institution
  • Provide a full spectrum of independent as well as collaborative care to adult Cardiology patients in the inpatient setting.
  • Provide consultations for inpatients with new and chronic cardiovascular disorders.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and process improvement activities.
  • Participate in and support the Division’s education, research and quality initiatives.
    • Provide education and mentorship to fellow team members, staff, residents, fellows, nurses and students.
    • Attend weekly Cardiology Grand Rounds and quarterly faculty meetings.
  • Be well versed in UWMC CPOE/EPIC.
  • Follow UWMC Professional Behavior Policy and Procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate Degree from and accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program or foreign equivalent
  • Current and valid state Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nursing Licensure for ARNP or Physician Assistant licensure for PA-C
  • Nationally certified ARNP/PA with DEA
  • Highly reliable, flexible provider with proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment
  • Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in the care of cardiology patients

 

 

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Training and experience in inpatient cardiology or CCU/ICU management
  • ACLS Certification
