Position Description
The Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (AID) in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking applicants for a full-time (1.0) faculty position. This position will be at the Clinical Instructor or Clinical Assistant Professor level, and will have clinical and teaching components. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. This position has an annual service period of 12-months [July 1-June 30] and is anticipated to start in July 2022.
The successful candidate will take on a clinical faculty position in the Madison Clinic located at Harborview Medical Center and certain satellite clinics, providing care for patients with HIV or on PrEP and also for patients with a broad range of infectious diseases. The duties of this position include primarily clinical care, but also teaching and mentoring of Infectious Disease fellows and Internal Medicine residents. Some scholarly opportunities are also available for those candidates interested in medical education and/or practice improvement. University of Washington faculty engage in clinical, teaching, and research activities.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a MD (or foreign equivalent) and be board eligible/ board certified in Infectious Diseases (or foreign equivalent). In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S,) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
