Position Description
The University of Washington (UW) Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology is recruiting for a full-time clinical faculty member specializing in clinical care of patients with Hematology and Oncology disorders. The position would be at the Clinical Assistant Professor level with a Clinician Position in the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Community Cancer Program. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month service period (July 1-June 30), annual appointment based at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) – University of Washington Medical Center-Northwest (UWMC-Northwest). The position will focus primarily on high volume ambulatory clinical care of patients with solid organ cancers, encompassing a breadth of knowledge across sub-specialties within oncology. There is a secondary focus on inpatient consultations with on-call requirements. As the group increases in size, there will be the opportunity for greater sub-specialization. UWMC-Northwest SCCA has a clinical trial program that is expanding rapidly, so the final candidate will have the opportunity to facilitate community involvement in clinical trials. The position may also involve participation in the clinical and instructional activities of the Division of Medical Oncology, as the site will serve as a continuity clinic for fellows training in the UW/Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center fellowship program.
Anticipated start date would be June 1, 2022
Qualifications
Requirements include MD (or foreign equivalent) and fellowship training in Medical Oncology and Hematology (or foreign equivalent). In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.
