Position Description

The University of Washington’s Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is seeking an ARNP/PA for a full-time (1.0), 12 month, annual faculty position (July 1-June 30 service period) at the rank of Teaching Associate. The ARNP/PA is a member of the inter-professional gastroenterology and hepatology team that includes attending physicians, gastroenterology and hepatology trainees, multidisciplinary  specialists (social workers, dieticians, pharmacists, psychiatrists) , other physician assistants, and nurse practitioners providing care for patients with gastrointestinal and liver disease in the inpatient and outpatient settings. A successful applicant will provide care independently and collaboratively with other team members. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

This position will provide clinical services at the UWMC-Montlake with a focus in Hepatology and Transplant Hepatology.  Duties will include providing hepatology consultative services for outpatients including General Hepatology, Transplant Hepatology and Liver Tumor clinics. The hepatology team includes attending physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners, as well as clinic staff including nurses and medical assistants.  Estimated start date of March 1, 2022.

Qualifications

  1. Graduate Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or graduate of an accredited PA program, or foreign equivalent.
  2. Current and valid licensure as an ARNP or PA-C in Washington State.
  3. Nationally certified ARNP/PA with DEA.
  4. Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills and clinical expertise in the care of patients with chronic and acute gastrointestinal and liver illnesses.
