Title: Teaching Associate, Interventional and Structural Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider

Position Overview:  We are seeking three (3) highly reliable and flexible Advanced Practice Providers (APP, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) with proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment for our Inpatient and Outpatient Interventional and Structural Cardiology Team at UWMC-Montlake Campus.

Position Details:  Full-time (100% FTE) UW Faculty Teaching Associate Position, ARNP or PA-C, Interventional and Structural Cardiology Inpatient and Outpatient, variable 10 to 12 hour shifts, Mon-Sat. Teaching Associate have an annual service period of 12 months (July 1-June 30). This is a one-year appointment, renewable annually.  Estimated start date will be March 1, 2022.

Reports to: Interventional Cardiology Service Director and Cardiology Lead Advanced Practice Provider

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with an inter-professional team including established APPs, Cardiology Fellows and Attending Cardiologists from the UW Interventional Cardiology and Structural Team to provide high quality, safe, patient- and family-centered care in a premier institution 
  • Provide a full spectrum of independent as well as collaborative care to complex adult cardiology patients with coronary and/or valvular disease who are pre- and post-procedural in the inpatient and outpatient setting
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and process improvement activities. 
  • Provide education and mentorship to fellow team members, staff, residents, fellows, nurses and students. 
  • Attend weekly Cardiology Grand Rounds and quarterly faculty meetings. 
  • Be well versed in EPIC. 
  • Follow UWMC Professional Behavior Policy and Procedures. 
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

Required:

  • Graduate Degree from and accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program or foreign equivalent
  • Current and valid Washington state Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nursing Licensure for ARNP or Physician Assistant licensure for PA-C
  • Nationally certified ARNP/PA with DEA
  • Highly reliable, flexible provider with proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment
  • Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in the care of cardiology patients
  • Basic computer knowledge and command of basic personal computer skills
