Position Description
The Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery within the University of Washington School of Medicine is recruiting for one full-time Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (ARNP/PA) at the rank of Teaching Associate on a renewable 12-month service period (Jul 1 – Jun 30), with an estimated start date in Winter 2022. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. The successful candidate will be incorporated into the outpatient team caring for patients with breast disease at the UW Medical Center Northwest Campus. The ARNP/PA will provide comprehensive clinical care to patients with breast concerns, family history of breast cancer, pre-, peri- and post-op care, and follow-up of breast surgery patients. Appointments as Teaching Associate are normally structured per University guidelines as a 12-month term, followed by reappointment on an annual basis.
Qualifications
Requirements for the ARNP include: current and valid Washington State Registered Nurse licensure, current and valid state Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner licensure with prescriptive authority, Masters Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, and national certification as a Nurse Practitioner or certification-eligible. Requirements for PA include: current and valid state Physician Assistant licensure, and certification as a Physician Assistant or certification-eligible.
