Cardiovascular Disease Prevention
The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine at the University of Washington, School of Medicine is recruiting a full-time general cardiologist focused on cardiovascular disease prevention and interplay with diabetes and obesity. Outstanding opportunities exist for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams dedicated to the investigation and treatment of metabolic disease. This individual would lead our cardiovascular prevention program at SLU (South Lake Union), coordinate our clinical research program in collaboration with the DRC (Diabetes Research Center) and Clinical Trials Unit and perform general inpatient cardiology duties at SLU. This individual will supervise trainees rotating through the clinic and act as mentor for fellows wishing to pursue a career in cardiovascular prevention.
The successful applicant would be appointed to the full-time (100% FTE) faculty at the University of Washington at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level (without tenure due to funding), commensurate with qualifications. This position has an annual service period of 12 months (July 1 – June 30). Anticipated start date will be January 1, 2022.

Qualifications
This position will be expected to provide excellent patient care, scholarship and medical education.
Applicants must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified in cardiovascular disease (or foreign equivalent). In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
