Position Description
The University of Washington Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine and Seattle Children’s Hospital have an outstanding opportunity for a full-time academic pediatric orthopaedic surgeon with a focus on the foot, lower extremity and limb deformity. This position includes an academic appointment in the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Appointment will be made at the Assistant Professor level (without tenure due to funding). Candidates will be expected to develop a robust investigative program in either basic science or clinical research. This position is on a 12-month service period (July 1 - June 30) with a start date in the spring of 2022. Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, evidence of previous academic success. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
Qualifications
Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent), be board certified (or board eligible) in Orthopaedic Surgery and have completed a fellowship (or foreign equivalent) in pediatric orthopedic surgery. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
