Position Description

The Division of Genetic Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics, and University of Washington is recruiting a full-time academic clinical pediatric geneticist at the level of Associate, or Full Professor, without tenure (rank is commensurate with qualifications and experience)  on the Clinician Scholar track for the role of Associate Medical Director, Outpatient Services. Position is a 12 month service period, July 1-June 30. Anticipated start date is Fall 2021.

Responsibilities will include patient care (inpatient consultations, outpatient genetics clinics, regional clinics throughout Washington, multidisciplinary clinics) and teaching of medical students and residents.  Opportunities will be available for clinical research and collaboration with physician/scientists in the Seattle Children’s Research Institute and basic scientists in the Departments of Pediatrics and Genome Sciences at the University of Washington.  Clinical services in the Division are currently provided by eleven clinical geneticists, nine genetic counselors, and two APPs.  This position (Associate Medical Director, Outpatient Services) will also offer unique opportunities to lead the expansion of outpatient clinical services, coordinate existing programs, and develop new outpatient programs in medical genetics. 

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a MD/DO (or foreign equivalent) and be either board certified or board eligible in Clinical Genetics or Pediatrics.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
