Position Description

The University of Washington’s Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is seeking an ARNP/PA for a full-time, 12 month (July 1-June 30 service period), annual faculty position at the rank of Teaching Associate. The ARNP/PA is a member of the inter-professional gastroenterology and hepatology team that includes attending physicians, gastroenterology and hepatology trainees, clinical pharmacologists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners providing care for patients with gastrointestinal and liver disease in the inpatient and outpatient settings. A successful applicant will provide care independently and collaboratively with other team members. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Anticipated start date for this position is December 1, 2021. 

This position will provide clinical services at the UWMC-Northwest campus.  Duties will include providing gastroenterology consultative services for inpatients and outpatients.  Some weekend coverage will be expected. The gastroenterology team includes attending physicians, and nurse practitioners, as well as clinic and endoscopy staff including nurses and medical assistants.

Qualifications

1.            Graduate Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or graduate of an accredited PA program, or foreign equivalent.

2.            Current and valid licensure as an ARNP or PA-C in Washington State.

3.            Nationally certified ARNP/PA with DEA.

4.            Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment.

5.            Excellent interpersonal skills and clinical expertise in the care of patients with chronic and acute gastrointestinal and liver illnesses.
