Position Description
The Division of Rheumatology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking applicants to fill a full-time faculty position as an Assistant Professor (without tenure due to funding). This position will be based at University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) in Seattle, Washington, and will have an annual service period of 12 months (July 1-June 30).
This position will have an active research program. The successful candidate will be expected to lead a nationally recognized research program in the pathogenesis of arthritis. Additional duties may include outpatient attending duties with the responsibility to teach residents and fellows and, in the laboratory, to mentor research scientists and postdoctoral fellows. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. The anticipated start date will be September 2021.
Qualifications
Successful candidates must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D degree (or foreign equivalent) with board-certification in rheumatology (or foreign equivalent) and a proven track record of securing extramural funding. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
