We are seeking a full-time academic specialist at the Assistant Professor without tenure due to funding (WOT) rank, in General Obstetrics and Gynecology to join the Division of Women’s Health. This faculty position will be responsible for direct patient care in general obstetrics and gynecology and will have opportunities for scholarly work either in education or research if desired. This individual will work at several ambulatory clinic sites with diverse patient populations and in L&D and ORs with medical students and residents. The faculty member will participate in resident and medical student education including clinical teaching, didactics, simulation activities, and quality improvement/patient safety. Opportunities for career growth and leadership are available. This multi-year position has a 12-month service period (July 1- June 30) with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2022. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. This recruitment will be for multiple positions.
Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank.
University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Candidates will be expected to provide medical services at the University of Washington affiliated hospitals, train residents and medical students, and make academic contributions to the field.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
Excellent record of clinical service in general obstetrics (inpatient and outpatient).
Gynecologic surgical proficiency required. Robotic experience is not necessary.
Demonstration of prior outstanding scholarly work in education, research, quality improvement or administrative experience.
Positive factors for consideration include but are not limited to clinicians with several years of experience, but we will also consider new OBGYN graduates with academic career interests.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
