Position Description
The University of Washington’s (UW) Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology is seeking applicants for a full-time clinical faculty (1.0 FTE) position at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC). This position has an annual service period of 12-months [July 1-June 30], is ranked at the Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor level, commensurate with qualifications, and may begin as soon as July 1, 2021.
UWMC is an academic center of excellence that has been frequently recognized as one of the top hospitals in the nation. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Successful candidates are expected to be outstanding clinicians and bedside teachers with the capacity to develop innovative clinical programs. Successful candidates should have expertise in dialysis and will be expected to travel to dialysis units. This clinical faculty position also would be expected to attend on the in- and outpatient clinical nephrology services, teach fellows at the bedside, and participate in divisional events.
Qualifications
- In order to be eligible for University Sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
- Applicants must have an MD (or foreign equivalent)
- ABIM board certified or eligible in Nephrology
- Completion of an ACGME nephrology fellowship
