Position Description
The University of Washington, Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics along with the Seattle Children’s Research Institute Center for Child Health, Behavior & Development invites applications for a full time Assistant Professor, without tenure by reason of funding, on the faculty-scientist track. This is a 12-month service period position with an anticipated start date of the Summer of 2022
This position provides an opportunity to work at The Center for Child Health, Behavior, and Development (CHBD) at Seattle Children's Research Institute. Applicants will be eligible for faculty appointment at the University of Washington and will join a group of highly collaborative research scientists at CHBD with expertise in pediatrics, health services research, psychiatry, psychology, biostatics, and epidemiology.
The successful applicant will be expected to build an independent research career at Seattle Children’s and the University of Washington that can impact child, family, and community health with a particular interest in health equity. The successful applicant will be expected to apply for and obtain extramural grant support.
All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have earned a MD, DO, MD/DO combined, PhD (or foreign equivalent).
Physician applicants must be board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics, and have formal post-graduate training in health services research, public health, health policy, epidemiology, psychology, child and human development, sociology, or other relevant fields.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
