Position Description
The University of Washington, Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences, is inviting applications for a part-time Lecturer. The Lecturer will be responsible for clinical education and supervision of students at the University of Washington Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences. The applicant may be involved in undergraduate and graduate didactic teaching within the department and will be expected to serve on department committees. The Lecturer will have the opportunity for leadership roles that contribute to the vision and mission of the clinic, department and university.
This will be a 50% appointment and will have a 9-month service period. If additional summer quarter course require instructors, then a summer quarter appointment and salary may also be offered.
Qualifications
A minimum of five years of experience in clinical speech/language pathology. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in evidence-based assessment and treatment of voice disorders. The required credential for applicants is the Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech/Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), eligibility for Speech/Language Pathologist licensure in Washington State, and a MA/MS or PhD (or foreign equivalent) in Speech/Language Pathology. Applicants are required to have prior experience in university-based clinical supervision, experience with laryngeal imaging techniques such as laryngeal videostroboscopy, and familiarity with acoustic and aerodynamic instrumental analysis of voice, however all candidates with a background in voice are welcome.
