Position Description

The Department of Medicine, University of Washington (UW) and VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS) are recruiting a full-time (100% FTE) faculty member to join the Division of Gastroenterology based at VAPSHCS. This position will be at the rank of Assistant Professor (without tenure due to funding) on the clinician/scholar pathway.  The successful candidate would attend in the hepatology and endoscopy clinics at the VA and transplant hepatology at the UW. This position has an annual service period of 12 months (July 1 – June 30). University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.  Anticipated start date will be August 1, 2020.

 

Qualifications

Applicants must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified in gastroenterology (or foreign equivalent). Any U.S. Citizen may apply.  Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA policy.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or foreign equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
