Position Description

The Departments of Neurology and Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine are seeking a clinician to join the Divisions of Pediatric Neurology and Developmental Medicine at Seattle Children’s Hospital. The position will be sited at Seattle Children’s Hospital, the University of Washington and outreach clinics throughout Washington State.  This is a full-time, 12-month service period appointment, at the Assistant Professor (without tenure) or Associate Professor rank (without tenure) in the clinician-educator academic pathway. Candidates with exceptional qualifications may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor (without tenure) commensurate with experience.

The anticipated start date for this position is July 1, 2020.

Requirements include MD, DO, or foreign equivalent degree, eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Washington, certification or eligibility for certification in Pediatrics and either board-certified or board-eligible in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities or Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics. The successful applicant should demonstrate evidence of clinical and academic productivity and leadership.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Candidates must be either board eligible or board certified.
