Position Description

The Department of Biochemistry, University of Washington School of Medicine seeks to fill a position of Associate Professor WOT. This is a full-time, 12-month service period position in the non-tenure track and does not have a state line salary associated with it.  No start-up funds are available for this position. Anticipated start date is July 2020.  The successful candidate will be expected to develop and use three-dimensional structures as tools for teaching undergraduate biochemistry.  All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

Qualifications

A successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in teaching undergraduate biochemistry. Experience in teaching very large lecture-based courses with a diverse range of student backgrounds is required. Must have experience mentoring students, junior faculty, and instructors. Applicants should have demonstrated research expertise and productivity in protein structure and function in an area aligned with those of current departmental faculty.

Requires a Ph.D. in Biochemistry or related field (or foreign equivalent).
