Position Description

The University of Washington, Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics, invites applications for a full time Assistant Professor, without tenure by reason of funding, on the faculty-scientist track. This is a 12-month service period position with an anticipated start date of Summer 2020. 

The successful individual will conduct research on concussion in youth, especially that related to sports injury.  This will include risk factors for the occurrence of concussion and the long term outcomes of concussion, especially those occurring in sports.  The position will require the individual to be successful in applying for and obtaining extramural grant support. 

This position provides an opportunity to work at The Center for Child Health, Behavior, and Development (CHBD) at Seattle Children's Research Institute.  Applicants will be eligible for faculty appointment at the University of Washington and will join a diverse group of highly collaborative research scientists at CHBD with expertise in pediatrics, health services research, psychiatry, psychology, biostatics, and epidemiology.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have earned a PhD (or foreign equivalent) in epidemiology or relevant field.
