The University of Washington, Department of Pediatrics and Seattle's Children's Hospital are recruiting a pediatric academic physician with a national reputation to lead a large division and academic program in the field of pediatric gastroenterology,

The University of Washington, Department of Pediatrics and Seattle's Children's Hospital are recruiting a pediatric academic physician with a national reputation to lead a large division and academic program in the field of pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition.

The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Division with 18 pediatric GI subspecialists is the largest program in the Pacific Northwest and the only program offering liver and small bowel transplantation. The program provides excellent care in the areas of inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, gastrointestinal motility, acute and chronic liver disease, liver and intestinal transplantation, intestinal rehabilitation, pancreatic disorders and therapeutic endoscopy, and nutritional disorders.  In addition to the active clinical program, the GI division has a robust research portfolio with almost 60 active clinical trials in gastroenterology and hepatology. The division has fellowship programs for both gastroenterology/hepatology and transplant hepatology.  

Appointment as full time Associate Professor (without tenure due to funding) or Professor (without tenure due to funding) of Pediatrics at the University of Washington, School of Medicine, will be commensurate with experience, training and achievement.  This is a 12-month service period position.  Anticipated start date is Spring/Summer of 2020.

All UW faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

Qualifications

The successful candidate for the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology must have a track record for successfully mentoring junior faculty in their scholarly pursuits, and an established research program that includes a demonstrated ability to attract research funding. 

The successful candidate will have an MD (or foreign equivalent), will have completed a pediatric gastroenterology fellowship, and be board certified in pediatric gastroenterology 

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
