Position Description

The Division of Genetic Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, and University of Washington is recruiting a full time academic clinical pediatric geneticist at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor, without tenure (commensurate with experience and qualifications) in the Clinician Educator series.  

Responsibilities will include patient care (inpatient consultations, outpatient genetics clinics at the various Seattle Children's Hospital sites, regional clinics throughout Washington and Idaho,  multidisciplinary clinics) and teaching of medical students and residents.  Opportunities will be available for clinical research and collaboration with physician/scientists in the Seattle Children’s Research Institute and basic scientists in the Departments of  Pediatrics and Genome Sciences at the University of Washington.  Clinical services in the Division are currently provided by thirteen clinical geneticists, nine genetic counselors, and one nurse practitioner.  

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.  This is a 12 month service period with an anticipated start date of Summer 2020.

Qualifications

Applicants should have an MD, or DO, or MD/DO combined (or foreign equivalent) and be either board certified or board eligible in Clinical Genetics, Pediatrics or Medicine.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
