The School of Dentistry at the University of Washington is seeking applications for a full-time position, in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as Director of the General Practice Residency Program (GPR) and Director of the Campus Dental Center (CDC) in which the GPR residents practice together with other faculty in the School of Dentistry.

This is a 12-month active service period clinical dental pathway track faculty position at the assistant professor level, and is without tenure due to funding. The specific responsibilities associated with the position will include administering a GPR program accredited for eight to ten residents per year as the Residency Program Director. The Director has a significant role in the GPR teaching program, which includes clinical and didactic teaching as well as supervising residents as they do clinical research. The position carries with it the obligation to practice general dentistry at an advanced level. The Director must maintain clinical privileges and credentials as an attending dentist in the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC). This position will supervise residents on call rotations in the UWMC.

This position also serves as the Director of the UW Dentistry Campus Dental Center (CDC) faculty practice clinic. For CDC director responsibilities, this position will report to the Dean of the School of Dentistry and be responsible for maintaining a general practice as well as leading the School’s intramural CDC dental practice.  The CDC currently employs four faculty general dentists, two hygienists, three dental assistants, and three staff members in provision of clinical patient care to the UW campus and surrounding communities.  The Director will work with faculty providers and staff in the CDC to grow, develop and maintain this practice to the highest standards of private dental care.  Responsibilities will include strategic planning, practice management and representation, policy and practice administration and financial oversight and reporting.  The director will also work with  the Dean and the Assistant Dean for Finance to market the CDC appropriately and ensure fair and competitive compensation for CDC providers, and oversight and team leadership of clinical faculty, clinic manager, and dental staff.

The anticipated start date is July 1, 2020 or a mutually agreed upon date.
