Position Details

Position Description

The University of Washington Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance are recruiting a full-time faculty member, at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level (without tenure due to funding, commensurate with experience) on the physician/scientist pathway with an annual service period of 12 months (July 1-June 30). In addition to an emphasis on a non-malignant hematology practice, the individual who fills this position will conduct clinical research in thrombosis, including thrombosis in cancer and thrombotic microangiopathy. The Division of Hematology at the University of Washington offers a highly academic and intellectually stimulating environment that includes a significant number of faculty whose research interest and clinical expertise focus on non-malignant hematologic diseases, including bone marrow failure syndromes, hemophilia, thrombotic disorders, as well as platelet disorders.  There is a strong sense of collegiality within the group; all University of Washington faculty members engage in teaching, research and service. Anticipated start date is July 1, 2019.

  • Minimum requirements include an M.D. (or foreign equivalent)
    • For MD candidates, in order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
  • Fellowship in Hematology or foreign equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in adult non-malignant hematology
