Position Description

The University of Washington School of Medicine Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine at Seattle Children’s Hospital has three academic anesthesiologist positions available at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor, commensurate with experience.  These positions are without tenure and are either part-time or full-time with a 12-month service period.  The anticipated start date is July 2019 or soon thereafter.  Seattle Children’s provides care to children from the WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho) region and supports all pediatric surgical and medical specialties.  Responsibilities include clinical activities in the general operating rooms, teaching of residents, fellows and medical students and supervision of clinical care team. 

 

Qualifications

Must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and a minimum of one year fellowship training (or foreign equivalent) in pediatric anesthesia.  Must be board certified (or foreign equivalent) or eligible in anesthesiology and obtain State of Washington medical licensure.  In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the US Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
