The University of Washington (UW) Departments of Psychology and Global Health invite applicants for a full-time (100%FTE) tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.   This has an anticipated start date of September 16, 2019. Tenure-track faculty have an annual service period of nine months (Sept 16-June 15). The successful candidate is expected to develop a funded research program and teach undergraduate and graduate level courses. Psychology will be the candidate’s primary department.

We seek a candidate whose research is in the area of maternal, adolescent, and child mental health, with a global perspective. Example areas of research focus may include studies that identify optimal approaches to the delivery of mental health services for women, adolescents, or children in low-resource settings; research that explores inter-generational transmission of psychopathology or the influence of parental mental health on child development; or research examining the predisposing factors (including social determinants), as well as the genetic, epigenetic, and physiological mechanisms involved in adverse mental health outcomes. Implementation science questions relevant to global mental health and research testing innovative modalities—such as mHealth and other technology-based solutions—to enhance access to preventive care and treatment globally would also be of interest.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in clinical psychology, or foreign equivalent, by the start of the appointment and a record of research productivity is required. 


Application packages should include a detailed statement of research and teaching interests, curriculum vitae, three representative reprints/preprints, and three letters of recommendation. You may include an optional diversity statement that describes your experiences with diversity in your research, teaching or service, your potential to support the departments' commitment to diversity, and your potential to mentor and educate students who will serve diverse populations.
