The School of Business at the University of Washington Bothell invites applications for a teaching faculty position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor in Supply Chain Management and Operations, with an anticipated start date of September 16, 2027. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a full-time basis (100% FTE) for a 9-month academic, 3-year renewable appointment beginning September 16, 2027. The Assistant Teaching Professor position is not eligible for tenure.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Operations Management, Business Statistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence; develop and update courses and curricula that integrate contemporary analytical methods, AI-enabled decision tools, and experiential learning; advise and mentor students; contribute to assessment and assurance-of-learning activities; maintain an appropriate AACSB faculty qualification status; and provide service to the School, the University, the profession, and the community. Teaching faculty at the University of Washington engage in teaching, scholarship, and service, and the successful candidate will be encouraged to pursue pedagogical innovation, applied scholarship, industry engagement, and leadership in curriculum development.
Positive factors for consideration include a doctorate from a highly regarded, research-intensive U.S. institution or a comparably strong international institution; expertise spanning Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, and Operations; experience using contemporary analytics and AI tools in instruction; evidence of teaching effectiveness; and relevant industry or applied professional experience.
The School of Business
The UW Bothell School of Business is accredited by AACSB and is deeply committed to the success of its faculty in research, teaching, and service. We are well known for our undergraduate, MBA, and MS Accounting programs, and enrollment has been growing at a fast pace. Located 15 miles northeast of downtown Seattle, we work closely with industry leaders, many of whom are headquartered in the region, as well as smaller, innovative, and rapidly growing companies in software, retail, medical equipment, biotechnology, electronics, and aerospace sectors. Our students are drawn from and work in companies such as Alaska Airlines, Amazon, Amgen, Boeing, Costco, Expedia, Google, ICOS, Meta, Microsoft, Nintendo, Nvidia, Phillips, PACCAR, REI, Starbucks, Symetra, T-Mobile, Tableau, and Zillow, as well as in local, State, and Federal government.
The School’s Supply Chain and Operations faculty are active scholars whose work has been published in leading journals including Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Operations Research, Decision Sciences, Journal of Supply Chain Management, and IEEE Transactions in Engineering Management, among others.
The Supply Chain and Operations faculty cover courses in Statistics, Introductory Operations and Project Management, a wide range of Supply Chain Management courses, Information Systems, and recently launched courses in Business Analytics and AI, across both our undergraduate and graduate curriculum.
The School of Business is an undepartmentalized School and encourages collegiality across the entire faculty. Faculty members should expect to interact with colleagues from other business disciplines. As part of UW tri-campus system, faculty members have complete access to the computing and library resources of the University of Washington.

This selection places UW Bothell among a small group of colleges and universities collectively committed to using data in smarter, more student-centered ways.
Salary
The base salary range for this position will be $12,000 - $13,500 per month ($108,000 to $121,500 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Qualifications
Applicants for this position must have earned a doctorate (or foreign equivalent) in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Information Systems, Management Science, Operations Research, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or a closely related field, by the date of appointment.
Applicants must provide evidence of successful university-level teaching or strong potential for teaching excellence and must be able to teach across several of the following areas: Operations Management, Business Statistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Information Systems, and Artificial Intelligence. Applicants must also provide evidence of a commitment to inclusive teaching, student mentoring, and service.
