Position Description

The Department of Medicine, Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition invites applications for a clinical practice faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a twelve-month full-time basis for a term of 3 years beginning October 1, 2026.

This position is paid directly by the VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS) and receives no UW compensation.  Please refer to the VAPSHCS for information about compensation for these positions.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide clinical care in outpatient clinics, an inpatient consult service, an inpatient glycemic consult service and numerous subspecialty services. The practice is supported by an advanced practitioner led inpatient glycemic team, a cohort of certified diabetes educators, nutritionists, pharmacists, mental health professionals, and clinical/administrative support staff.  The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to clinical teaching through student, resident and fellow education, and will have the opportunity to participate in clinical research trials.

Candidates will be considered across a range of interests in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, scholarship and service.

Qualifications

Applicants for this clinical practice faculty position must meet the following minimum qualifications:

MD or DO (or foreign equivalent), eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Washington and Board Eligibility or Certification in Endocrinology (or foreign equivalent) by the start date of employment.
