Position Description
The Division of General Internal Medicine within the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington invites applications for a clinical practice faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor of Clinical Practice. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a twelve-month full-time basis for a term of 3 years beginning September 1, 2026.
The base salary range for this position will be: $14,334 - $23,600 per month ($172,008 - $283,200 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
The successful candidate will be expected to serve as an attending physician on the Palliative Care Service at the University of Washington Medical Center – Montlake (UWMC-ML), with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (FHCC), Harborview Medical Center, and UWMC – Northwest (UWMC-NW) as potential additional sites of practice. They will also be expected to teach and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students.
Candidates will be considered across a range of interests in palliative care.

Only full-time positions (100% FTE) are eligible for H-1B and permanent residence sponsorship. Employer based permanent residence sponsorship is offered in the Clinical Practice track.
Qualifications
Applicants for this clinical practice faculty position must meet the following minimum qualifications:
Applicants must have a medical (MD or DO) degree (or foreign equivalent) and board certification* in both Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine (or foreign equivalent). Applicants must hold or be eligible for Washington State Medical License.
*Note: Board certification must be completed within two years after residency.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
