The Department of Neurology at the University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking an outstanding clinical neurophysiologist/epileptologist to work at the University of Washington Medical Center.

This is a full-time appointment at the Assistant Professor (without tenure) rank.

Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for this position in this title will be $19,770 - $22,084 per month ($237,240-$265,008 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

This individual will be a member of a busy academic service performing a wide variety of clinical neurophysiology studies, including interpretation of routine EEGs, ICU and epilepsy video EEG monitoring, and evoked potentials.  The successful candidate will also participate in outpatient and inpatient care of patients with epilepsy.  Development of an externally funded clinical research program in epilepsy is an expectation. 

The individual will be affiliated with the UW Regional Epilepsy Center, the largest clinical epilepsy program in the Pacific Northwest, with a high volume epilepsy surgical program. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.  

Qualifications

Requires an M.D. or D.O. degree or foreign equivalent. Completion of a clinical neurophysiology or epilepsy fellowship training program is required. 

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
